Models compared

  • Reisa 6 PU: 18.9 kg, a tunnel tent in PU-coated polyester with a 3,000 mm flysheet and an inner tent of 230 x 280 cm and 200 cm high. Also available with a skirt along the bottom edge.
  • Asgard 12.6: a 12.6 m² bell tent in technical cotton for 6 people, 16.0 kg.
  • Asgard 12.6 PU: the same bell tent in PU-coated 68D polyester.

Separate sleeping areas

On a family trip, standing height and separate sleeping areas make the biggest difference. Sleeping cabins fit several cotton tents: the Asgard 12.6 Cabin and Alfheim 12.6 Cabin for 3 people and the Utgard 13.2 Cabin for 2, so adults and children get their own space.

PU or technical cotton

PU-coated polyester has a 3,000 mm hydrostatic head and taped seams, and is waterproof apart from zips and openings. Technical cotton breathes, which gives a cooler interior on warm days and less condensation, but it is water-repellent rather than waterproof, with a 350 mm hydrostatic head. At this size the tent travels by car, so weight rarely matters.

Porch and storage

More people means more gear. A large porch gives covered space for cooking, wet clothes and boots, away from the sleeping area.
