Carried tents

When the tent travels on your back or bike, weight decides:

  • Oppland 3: a 3-person tunnel tent, 2.09 kg as LW (2.0) with doors on both sides, 3.55 kg as SI (2.0) and 4.5 kg as PU (2.0).
  • Oppland 4 PU: a 4-person tunnel tent at 5.4 kg, with an inner tent of 225 x 230 cm.
  • Seiland 3 SP: a 3-person tunnel tent in silicone-coated polyester with a 3,000 mm flysheet that reaches the ground and adjustable ventilation.

Split the tent between you. Our trekking tent FAQ recommends LW for shorter trips and SI for longer trips and expeditions.

Family camping

The Reisa 4 PU weighs 11.6 kg and is made for holidays where the car carries the load. Its inner tent is 180 cm high, the second cabin can be detached to use the space for storage or as a porch, and a groundsheet for the centre porch is included.

Technical cotton

  • Asgard 7.1: a bell tent for 3 people.
  • Ydun 5.5 and Ydun Sky 5.5: ridge tents for 4 people with a double entrance at each end.
  • Vimur 4.8 and 5.6: for 4 people on a steel A-frame, 13.7 kg and 18.0 kg.
  • Jarnvid 8: a 4-person tent with an adjustable height and a stove exit.

Technical cotton breathes and gives less condensation, but with a 350 mm hydrostatic head it is water-repellent rather than waterproof. See all technical cotton tents.

Headroom and porch

If the tent is mainly for sleeping, standing height is not essential. On holidays where you spend time inside, choose a tent with good headroom and a porch for cooking and storing gear.
