All are made of technical cotton (65% polyester, 35% cotton), the same fabric as the Nordisk cotton tents.

What is included

The Kari 8, 20 and 30 and both Diamonds come with two adjustable steel poles (220 to 260 cm), the Kari 41 with three. All of them include steel V-pegs (28 cm) and guy lines. The Kari 12 in Green Khaki comes with two adjustable aluminium poles (240 to 260 cm), and the F/CE. Kari 12 with aluminium poles and aluminium skewer pegs.

Tarp with a tent

A Kari attached to the entrance of a cotton tent gives a covered area to sit, eat and cook outside the tent. It also shades the tent, which reduces UV exposure, mildew and algae on the flysheet. Kari tarps connect to the cotton tents with carabiners at the connector points, or stand alone on poles and guy lines.

Water-repellent, not waterproof

Technical cotton has a 350 mm hydrostatic head. The cotton swells when it gets wet and closes the weave, so pitch the tarp with good tension and enough slope for rain to run off. Let it dry completely before storage, because damp cotton gets mould.

Weight

Cotton tarps are heavy: the Kari 20 weighs 10.9 kg. For carrying, a lightweight Voss tarp from 100 g is the better choice. Spare Kari pole sets are in tent accessories and pack sacks in tent spare parts.
