Down, shell or both

Down jackets keep you warm on cold, dry days. Shell jackets and pants keep out the rain and go over a warm layer. Down jackets with a rain shell combine the two, with water-repellent Crystal Down® Dry under an outer fabric with a 10,000 mm hydrostatic head.

Down jackets: the Strato 2.0, Stoke 2.0 and Sol 2.0 in 900+ goose down, and the Akkarvik, Lauge, Marton and Nao with a 10,000 mm rain shell.
Parkas: Jarvi and Meili with a 10,000 mm shell, and the unisex Skansholm with box-shaped down chambers.
Down vests: the Harald at 233 g in size L, and the unisex Alto 2.0 in 900+ goose down.
Shell jackets and pants: the Loki at 207 g in size L, the Ingvar rated at 30,000 mm, and the unisex Horizon 2.0 pants.

What fill power means

Fill power, given in cuin, tells you how much space the down fills. The higher the figure, the less down a jacket needs for the same warmth, so it weighs less and packs smaller. Our men's jackets range from 700+ in the Eske and the rain-shell jackets to 900+ goose down in the Strato 2.0, Stoke 2.0 and Sol 2.0.

Waterproof ratings

Hydrostatic head shows how much water pressure a fabric holds back, and breathability how much moisture it lets out. The Loki is rated at 20,000 mm and the Ingvar at 30,000 mm, both with a breathability of 40,000. The Sol 2.0 pairs 900+ down with a 20,000 mm shell, and the Horizon 2.0 pants are rated at 10,000 mm.

Sizes and care

Men's and unisex styles share one table in our size guide: chest from 94 cm in S to 126 cm in 3XL, and XS (88 cm) in unisex styles only. Jackets are sized by chest, pants by hip.

Wash down jackets at 30 °C in a front-loading machine on a gentle programme with down detergent and no fabric softener, then, if the care label allows it, tumble dry on low with three tennis balls. Shell jackets and pants also go in at 30 °C, but not in the tumble dryer. Care & Repair in Görlitz washes, refills and repairs down jackets and replaces zips.
