Our lightweight tents are built for hikers, cyclists and bikepackers who demand the most from both weight and weather protection. Compact on the pack list, considered in every detail — from pole choice to fabric weight, every gram is a decision.
Developed in Denmark and tested under demanding conditions, Nordisk lightweight tents deliver the combination of low weight, small pack size and genuine weather protection that makes the difference between a good trip and a great one.

A lightweight tent is the right choice when low weight and mobility come first — for multi-day trail running, bikepacking and long-distance hiking where every gram on your back is a decision at every step. Nordisk has been developing ultralight tent materials and components for decades — cutting weight without compromising durability or weather protection.
Half a kilo extra is felt with every step over a long day. Choose the tent as light and compact as possible. If you are running with another person you can share the weight — choose one tent for two and distribute the pack weight by strength. Our Telemark 2.2 fits two people with some gear, has two separate entrances and weighs just 1 kg.
On longer hiking trips comfort matters more than on shorter ones. A slightly larger sleeping cabin gives better sleep and space for the extra gear a week-long trip demands. Balance weight against space — and prioritise a porch for cooking and storing wet equipment without it moving into the sleeping cabin.
On exposed mountain terrain it can be easier to find space for two smaller tents on separate ledges than one large tunnel or dome tent. Tunnel tents perform best in sustained wind from one direction — dome tents handle shifting wind directions better and are freestanding, which is an advantage on hard ground.
Pegs must match the ground you are pitching on. Standard pegs work in most soil types, but snow-covered or rocky terrain requires specialist pegs. See our tent accessories range for the right pegs for your conditions.
LW and ULW materials are the absolute lightest — developed for those who count every gram. ULW tents weigh almost nothing and pack down to an impressively small volume. In ULW models the poles are made from carbon to further reduce weight. SI tents are the strong compromise — lighter than standard but more robust than ULW for hard use over many seasons. All Nordisk lightweight tents are wind tunnel tested and built for Scandinavian conditions — wind, rain and snow are part of the calculation, not an exception.
A Nordisk lightweight tent is designed to last for many seasons with the right care. Our Care & Repair programme offers professional repair when wear occurs. Spare poles and pegs can be found in our spare parts range.
Nordisk has been developing lightweight tents since 1901 — from ULW models for ultra-runners and bikepackers to robust SI tents for demanding multi-day hiking. We use PFC-free materials and wind tunnel test every tent. See the full Nordisk tent range.
