Down quality by family

Fill power (EU) is given in cuin. The higher the figure, the less down a bag needs for the same warmth, so it weighs less and packs smaller. 95/5 means 95 % down and 5 % feather.

Walløe ±0° Mummy, Walløe +10° Mummy and Walløe -10° Mummy: white goose down, 95/5, 800+ cuin.
Nansen ±0° Mummy and its colder siblings: white goose down, 95/5, 750+ cuin.
Iver ±0° Mummy and other Iver models: white duck down, 90/10, 700+ cuin.

At the same -1 °C limit, the 800+ Walløe ±0° weighs 60 g less than the 600+ Ides ±0°. For trips where the bag is likely to get wet, look at our synthetic sleeping bags.

The ±0° models compared

The degree figure in a model name is not always its limit: the Nansen -5° Mummy has a limit of -7 °C, the Ides +5° Mummy 4 °C. Cold sleepers should plan with the comfort temperature. The ±0° models in size M:

Walløe ±0° Mummy: 665 g, comfort 5 °C, limit -1 °C
Ides ±0° Mummy: 725 g, comfort 4 °C, limit -1 °C
Iver ±0° Mummy: 770 g, comfort 3 °C, limit -3 °C
Freja ±0° Blanket: 790 g, comfort 4 °C, limit -1 °C
Nansen ±0° Mummy: 800 g, comfort 3 °C, limit -3 °C

Iver and Nansen reach -3 °C, two degrees below the Walløe, and weigh 105 g and 135 g more. In size M the Walløe +10° weighs 415 g and the Walløe -10° 850 g. For expeditions, the Arctic 1100 has a limit of -18 °C at 1.73 kg in size M, and the Arctic 1400 goes to -28 °C.

Mummy, wide or blanket

The Walløe, Iver, Nansen and Ides Mummy bags have a side zip on the left, the Arctic bags a knee-length zip. The Ides ±0° Wide has a complete zip and is 86 cm wide at the shoulders in size M. Freja and Saga are blanket bags with a complete zip. In size M the Freja ±0° and Saga -5° are 75 cm wide at shoulders and feet, and the Saga -5° has a cotton lining, weighs 1.57 kg and zips to a second Saga. The 125 Years Camin ±0° Mummy has a cotton lining and weighs 1.38 kg in size M. The 125 Years Kiby Down Blanket is a travel blanket.

Down for children

The Ides Junior Mummy uses 600+ cuin grey duck down like the adult Ides, extends to fit up to 150 cm and has a feel-good range of +12 °C to +8 °C. Two synthetic models are also in our sleeping bags for kids.

Made in Görlitz

These down sleeping bags are sewn by hand in Görlitz, Germany, as they have been since 1983. Care & Repair in the same town repairs them and can wash and refill the down. Store the bag loose in a storage bag rather than its pack sack, so the down keeps its loft. Before washing at home, read the down product care FAQ.
