Red Dot Design Award has recognized two NORDISK innovations in 2026, awarding our down sleeping bag IVER and out cotton tent ASGARD ECO in the main competition, while ASGARD ECO also received distinction in the Sustainable Design category.
The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s most recognized international design awards, honouring both design concepts and market-ready products. Considered a sought-after mark of quality, it is awarded to products that demonstrate outstanding design, innovation, and functionality. Winning three awards highlights our continued focus on combining functional innovation with purposeful design.
A perfectly balanced down sleeping bag filled to suit specific settings – from summer escapes to shoulder-season hikes and alpine bivouacs. Inspired by the legendary journey of its namesake, Iver Iversen, from unskilled novice to true Arctic explorer, every detail of IVER is shaped by purpose, every configuration by experience. Together, these details have earned IVER a Red Dot Winner 2026 award.
Unlike most sleeping bags, IVER is developed around a simple yet highly refined principle: internal comfort remains identical across all temperature variants, while insulation increases only outward. This preserves freedom of movement inside, regardless of thermal rating. IVER’s intelligent cut combines a spacious upper body, a heat-efficient lower section, a sculpted sharkfin footbox, an ergonomic hood, an anti-snag zipper, and a one-hand adjustable thermal collar. The collar closes with an innovative yet simple Velcro closure – no plastic, magnets, or snaps. Built from soft-touch ripstop fabrics made entirely from recycled post-consumer plastic and filled with Crystal Down® at our own Manufaktur in Germany, IVER combines responsible material choices with precise craftsmanship.

ASGARD ECO received even broader recognition, not only becoming a Red Dot Winner 2026 for its unique product design, but also earning itself a second Red Dot in the Sustainable Design competition.
Designed without compromise as the world’s first tent made entirely from plant-based materials, ASGARD ECO eliminates metal, plastic, and synthetic components completely. Organic cotton and hemp canvas, beeswax treatment, bamboo poles, sisal guy lines, jute mesh, straw mats, wooden toggles, and natural shells together create a fully biodegradable shelter showing how far the boundaries of creating sustainable products can be pushed – to a point where a tent truly becomes one with nature again.

At NORDISK, we are proud of this dual recognition which underlines our design philosophy: creating outdoor equipment where performance, material responsibility, and simplicity work together without compromise.
